The Productive Work From Home Office

February 2, 2021

Many professionals find themselves working from home right now, and all of our beautiful Rausch Coleman home plans feature several perfect spots for this scenario! Here are some crucial points to a productive and successful home office illustrated in our RC St. Paul floorplan.

1. Set Up for Productivity

Find a quiet and spacious area in your home where you can concentrate. Avoid high-traffic areas! Consider painting it a calming color you enjoy, or a color known for productivity – think blues and greens. Make sure to select a chair that is a comfortable, ergonomic fit just right for you, and that your desk will accommodate all your equipment. Pictured is a formal dining area in an RC St. Paul that was converted to an office, tucked away from the rest of the home.

2. Declutter That Desk

In addition to having a dedicated workspace, keeping that space tidy is also crucial for productivity. Sticky notes, piles of paper, or half-full cups of lukewarm coffee will hinder productivity and concentration. Having space to move gives space to think! And refill that coffee! 😉

3. Ample Lighting

Natural light in offices boosts productivity and improves mood as well as encourages creativity. If there isn’t a window, add some extra lamps for ambient lighting, which gives the room a more relaxed mood.

Follow these simple guidelines to make the most out of your home office. It will maximize productivity and make your workday more enjoyable!⌂
