Empowering the Builders of Tomorrow—Our Partnership with Texas State University

Within the construction industry, fostering talent and knowledge in students is essential for overall growth, and at Rausch Coleman Homes, we are always looking to help the next generation of industry leaders and potentially add to our own team of experts. One way we’ve been able to do this over the years was by attending career fairs held at Texas State University each semester.

Unlocking potential 

Our partnership with the university truly stems from the esteemed undergraduate degree program offered by Texas State University's College of Science and Engineering—the Bachelor of Science in Construction Science & Management. This comprehensive program equips students with a profound understanding of construction principles and practices, encompassing both commercial and residential applications, and it’s through this program and the career fair that we were able to meet one of our current employees, Jackson Rogers.   

Jackson’s journey to a full-time Field Manager embodies the spirit of growth and opportunity that defines our partnership with Texas State University. Having interned with us during the summers of 2022 and 2023, Jackson was able to seamlessly transition into a full-time role with our team at Rausch Coleman Homes in August 2023. His exemplary performance has not only earned him accolades, but has also positioned him as a key contributor to our new home community projects such as Heritage Oaks. 

Our partnership with Texas State University 

Throughout the past two semesters, Jase Cullitan has been invited back to the college to speak to a few of the classes and offer students a chance to learn from his real-world experiences in the construction industry. His insights and practical knowledge have been invaluable, but now, our team at Rausch Coleman Homes has been able to offer the students at Texas State University even more resources. Our partnership with the school has culminated in a recent milestone—hosting a class of 14 students and 2 professors at one of our job sites, Legend Pond. 

The event offered students a firsthand glimpse into the practical applications of their academic learnings. Led by our seasoned experts Jase, Matt, Luke and Luis, the session delved into the intricacies of framing, mechanics, roofing and other vital aspects of construction. Witnessing our team share their knowledge and passion was truly inspiring, as they highlighted what sets Rausch Coleman Homes apart from the rest. 

The future of the construction industry 

At Rausch Coleman Homes, we can’t wait to see how this partnership with Texas State University continues to positively impact the lives of the students, and by attending career fairs, providing internship opportunities and hosting educational events like our recent job site visit, our goal is to continue to foster an environment for learning and innovation.
